Maintenance Supervisor
A day in the life of a Maintenance Supervisor team member
- Lead and manage a maintenance team
- Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of maintenance on all zoo facilities
- Maintain work orders, assign jobs to techs
- Track maintenance records for work performed

Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skill, and Ability)
- High school or GED equivalent.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Experience in HVAC (heating/cooling), electrical systems, plumbing, and general maintenance protocols.
- People management skills combined with the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
- Effective management of budgets; setting annual budget, managing expenditures, managing costs of repairs, jobs, etc.
- Previous experience in managing a maintenance management and repair reporting tracking system.
- Flexibility to make repairs and improvements in work despite that in our kinds of buildings, not all systems work the way they would in other buildings or businesses.
- Ability to engage with and communicate with people effectively.

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00a-4:30 p.m. Flexibility to answer emergencies as weather dictates.

Development Coordinator

A day in the life of a Development Coordinator:
- Support the team to meet fundraising goals for the Topeka Zoo & Conservation Center
- Extensive data tracking and monthly reports
- Administrative work for the Finance Department
- Schedule & prepare space for meetings hosted by the department
- Create & distribute letters, notes of appreciation, and other correspondence
- Develop & maintain a system or process flow to organize work
- Update department procedures
- Daily media search for donors to stay abreast of community and personal happenings
- Support office staff with record management, documentation, and other activities as necessary
Development Coordinator Attributes and Skills:
- Effective and professional communicator (verbal, written, and body language) to connect with donors and staff
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability and flexibility to work independently and as a team member
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and frequent interruptions with ease
- High degree of self-accountability
- Ability to identify and initiate process improvements
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite skills are required (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Development Coordinator Qualifications:
- Associate degree or above preferred
- Knowledge of DonorPerfect software preferred
- Data entry experience with proven ability to handle a high volume of data entry while maintaining accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail with an ability to perform work responsibilities accurately and independently
- Ability to draft letters, messages, and content, with an eye for detail and the ability to edit
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions
- Must take initiative
Schedule: Monday through Friday with occasional after-hour events.
This position reports to the Development Director.
