Structural Engineering CAD Tech, Entry Level

Position Summary:

The Business Specialist is primarily responsible for developing and promoting the company’s brand; while expanding business opportunities to grow and thrive in today’s competitive environment.

A day in the life of the Business Development Specialist:

  • Lead the preparation of RFP responses and client interviews
  • Negotiate and close business deals that promote better revenue
  • Evaluate and improve sales, marketing, and branding processes
  • Research new growth opportunities, create business strategies and stay on top of industry trends Identify and implement new marketing strategies via social media
  • Maintain various company social media platforms
  • Brand consistency
  • Redesign marketing content and selling tools including corporate brochures, PowerPoint presentations, and technical documentation
  • Conduct focus groups to pinpoint customer needs and wants and other marketing strategies
  • Oversee the RFP process in multiple markets
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports that measure the success of our marketing plan
  • Identify and pursue potential markets, clients, and projects
  • Measure client satisfaction with their projects
  • Develop long-lasting client relationships and strengthen industry partnerships
    • Manage client information database and create an information system to find detailed records quickly and accurately
  • Responsible for initiating the creative development process on assigned projects
  • Audits and submit recommended action plans for improvement of assigned projects
  • Provide marketing expertise and support in order to maintain positive client relationships
  • Responsible for special projects and communication of the progression of assigned special projects to the Manager
  • Provide training to less experienced Business Development Specialist

Skills for the Business Development Specialist:

  • Microsoft Office experience including strong Excel skills
  • B.S. degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • Prior Engineering or Construction Sales, strongly preferred
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a team
  • Demonstrates strong analytical, and problem-solving skill
  • Self-motivated
  • Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive information
  • Must be results-oriented, multi-tasking, quick learner
  • Respond to the urgent needs of the team and show a strong track record of meeting deadlines
  • Need to have proficiency in integrated business management and CRM software.
  • Should have an exceptional ability to analyze various market trends besides competitor behavior.

Administrative Assistant full time

Position Summary:

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for performing administrative and clerical duties to support the daily operations of engineering.

A day in the life of the Administrative Assistant:

The Administrative Assistant adds value in the following ways:

  • Answer phones and greet clients, guests, and/or visitors
  • Assist the business development and marketing team
  • Assist the engineering team with updating excel documents
  • Schedule appointments and maintain calendars as assigned
  • Schedule and coordinate staff and other meetings as assigned
  • Collate and distribute mail
  • Prepare communications, such as memos, emails, reports, and other correspondence
  • Write and edit documents from letters to reports and instructional documents
  • Assist with and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical
  • Maintain office supplies
  • Assist with maintaining an organized and clean office environment

Skills for the Administrative Assistant:

  • Microsoft Office experience including strong Excel skills
  • High school or GED and work experience
  • Licensed notary in the state of Kansas and Missouri a plus
  • Exceptional people skills
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a team
  • Professionalism while representing the company
  • Must be results-oriented, multi-tasking, quick learner
  • Respond to the urgent needs of the team and show a strong track record of meeting deadlines

Structural Engineering CAD Tech, Entry Level

We are looking to hire an entry-level Structural engineering CAD technician to generate surface and solid CAD models for our clients. Responsibilities include the layout of construction drawings based on preliminary design plans/models, the adaptation of standard details to projects, detailing of unique conditions, and coordination with other disciplines such as architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, etc. Work will be done under the supervision of an engineer. You may be required to work as part of a team or individually on a project.

To ensure success as a CAD technician, you should have a general working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit. Communication is an essential part of CAD design. Using computer-generated models and plans, you must work with other team members and departments to assist in meeting timelines and budgets.

REVIT/CAD Designer Skill Requirements:

  • Firm grasp of mathematics, engineering, and industry information.
  • General understanding of buildings and CAD processes.
  • General ability to read and translate construction drawings.
  • General knowledge of the company’s preferred software.
  • Excellent communication, leadership
  • Time management awareness knowledge.
  • Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to present information and discuss with engineers.

Experience and Skills:

  • An Associate’s degree or REVIT/CAD Certification
  • General knowledge of CAD and AutoCAD software including Revit
  • Structural experience a plus
  • 0-3 years experience
  • Microsoft Office experience including strong Excel skills
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, good organizational traits
  • Self-motivated
