Medical Office Assistant (AP/AR Clerk)

Medical Office Assistant (AP/AR Clerk), Full time about 40 hours per week
Front Desk qualities:
- An individual with a collaborative spirit that eagerly jumps in to assist staff throughout the office and organization
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and constant interruptions with ease
- Desire to genuinely connect with and encourage patients
- A sincere interest in best practices and efficiencies
- Have a passion to learn about nutrition and preventative medicine
Front Desk responsibilities:
- Warmly greet patients in-person and via phone (route and answer calls)
- Check patients in and out (scheduling, file chart)
- Bookkeeping (open/close duties)
- Ability to sell Supplements and Vitamins
- Knowledgeable of products, supplements (what they do, dosing, etc.)
- Ability to educate and promote products, recipes, etc. to patients
- Patient charts (pulling, preparing, verifying paperwork)
- Process payments, mail statements, file invoices
- Assist supervisor with projects and tasks
- Back up to restock food room as necessary
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. regularly
- Various clerical duties
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable responsibilities:
- Enter bills into QuickBooks to pay and process
- Must be knowledgeable in QuickBooks
- Ensure Accounts Receivable invoices are processed monthly and patient accounts reflect the proper account balance.
Experience:
- Prior front desk experience in a professional office setting, 3 years preferred
- QuickBooks experience, 2 years preferred
- Bookkeeping experience, 1 year required
- Prior medical experience, strongly preferred
- Excellent grammar and communication skills
- Exceedingly positive and encouraging
- Strong computer skills (MS Word & Excel)
- Detail orientated
- Ability to work collaboratively and develop positive relationships with co-workers
- Ability to take initiative and give consistent and energetic effort
- Schedule flexibility required (potential 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. w/varying schedules)
